Program Content
As in the valuation of any personal services entity, normalization of owners’ compensation can often have the greatest influence on a valuator’s determination of the fair market value of a physician practice.  This course will discuss specific methods of measuring and benchmarking physician compensation as part of a valuation engagement.  Also being covered will be some recent developments in the healthcare industry and federal regulations affecting physician compensation. The presentation will include:

  1. Sources for statistical physician compensation and production benchmark data.
  2. An overview of measuring physician productivity.
  3. Important considerations specific to benchmarking physician compensation.

Learning Objectives
After completing this Webinar course participants will be able to:
• Reference recognized sources of statistical data most commonly used to measure physician compensation and production.
• Benchmark physician productivity using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Work Relative Value Unit (wRVU) system.
• Identify the limiting conditions and factors specific to federal regulations affecting the normalization of owners’ compensation in a physician practice valuation.
